NETWORK Marketing VS PYRAMID Scheme

Yes, there is a big difference between Network Marketing or MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) as it is called and a Pyramid Scheme.

Multi-level marketing is a business model which involves a pyramid structured network of people who sell a company’s products or services.

It is referring a friend to this awesome product that you have found or this service that you think can really help him or her.

You are accountable for your success! The money and time you put in will define how much you will earn.

It is the perfect business, where there is NO overheads. You don’t have to rent an office, you don’t have to pay salaries. You don’t have to provide a medical aid or maternity leave. You don’t have to store products.

A Pyramid Structure is when you get paid to get a new recruit and there is NO involvement of any product.

Successful Network Marketing modules include Tupperware, Avon, Herbalife to name but a few.

Networking is more about “cultivating” then it is about “hunting”. It is about cultivating relationships. True words by Dr. Ivan Misner, BNI.

Lion’s Head “Must do” hike in Cape Town

The best thing about the Lion’s Head hike is the breath taking view from its 669m summit. On the one side, the proud lion overlooks the city and Table Bay and on the other side the scenic Atlantic Ocean coastline.

Lion’s Head is a distinctive shaped mountain slope found alongside Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa. It is adjacent to the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range.

Although the walk can be steep at times, there is nothing to hectic about the hike.  Starting on Signal Hill Road the walk to the summit should take approximately an hour and thirty minutes. Along the path, you find a series of ladders and chains to assist you. This route is for the more adventure’s type but is not suited for children and people afraid of heights. There is an alternative route for these hikers – The Spiral Route is clearly marked.

The Lion’s Head can be hiked at any time of the day but keep in mind that it is a very popular spot and can be crowed. The sunrise on Lion’s Head is spectacular but you should start early. When doing the sunset hike I would advise a guide as it could become tricky going down the mountain but again the view is fantastic and worth the effort.

Please take enough water, snacks and wear comfortable shoes, a hat and sunscreen. As the weather can change rapidly in Cape Town, it is advisable to take a light jacket as well. Remember that there is no bathroom facilities on top of the mountain and everything that you take up which could include a picnic basket must go back with you please do not litter on the mountain.

To ensure safe hiking in Table Mountain National Park please follow the basic rules of Mountain safety found on the San Parks link: www.sanparks.org/parks/table_mountain/tourism/safe_hiking.php

‘Your cute’ From Cape Town

If you are from Cape Town you will know that the traffic is not for sissies. We have the Northern Suburbs that is about 30 – 40 km from town and then we have the Southern Suburbs that is about 10 – 20 km from town. When revering to town I mean Cape Town the mother city.

The average person living in the Northern Suburbs are about 2 and half hours each day on the road just from home to work and back. It was on one of those days, I was in the traffic bumper to bumper checking a whats-app message. ‘Yes’, I know you are not supposed to check your phone when driving but the car was standing still and I checked: ‘OK’.

The guy in front of me held out of his window a round message board with the word: ‘Hi’.

I didn’t really reply thought he was sarcastic because I was checking my phone and ignored him chatting with my son in the car asking me: ‘What is with this guy?’

The guy held out another board with the message: ‘Traffic is hectic.’  To which I replied in hand motions and head shaking to ‘Yes’.

you are cuteTo which the guy replied with another board: ‘You’re cute’

There I was speechless and my son asking me if this guy is high or something. Blushing like a sixteen year old I replied: ‘Thank you’

A board was held out again: ‘Are you Free?’

To which my son replied: ‘No! This guy is weird mom.’

Smiling I replied to the guy with a negative shake of my head to which he showed another board: ‘Wanna fool around?’

By then I was laughing out loud and again said no to which the guy replied: ‘At least I tried’ and drove in a different direction as me.

That was the most inventive way I have ever been flirted with and helped with the mundane traffic we have to live with in Cape Town.

Thank you kind sir for making my day!
